Welcome to 1000 Acres – a project aiming to regenerate the areas of the UK countryside that have been scarred by industrial and commercial activities as well as intensive farming. 1000 Acres is a registered UK charity working to create several areas of land, once green and beautiful, that have been damaged beyond recognition and are now laying as waste land. Using this land will enable us to transform huge areas of the UK. It is well known that climate change is threatening everyone on this planet, and without drastic action, this could result in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people worldwide. This is our first step to countering this in the UK. We are also working with local specialist apiarists – Bee Keepers to you and me – to help stem the tide of another ecological disaster, the alarming death rate of our bee population. We are going to plant a huge variety of trees, plants, wild flowers, heather, and native species that have declined in number, such as the Bluebell and certain trees.
