We use running as a mechanism through which to develop personal and social capabilities in high school students in need. The program involves theoretical and practical components as students prepare for a challenging but achievable Goal Race. Learning about, and employing goal-setting, commitment and resilience in the preparation for their Goal Race, students develop the confidence and capabilities to apply these, beyond the finish line, and beyond the context of running.
