Savvy Leadership Academy exists for one simple purpose, to empower today’s youth with the skills to become tomorrow’s leaders. Sounds like a noble cause, but why kids and leadership? Technology has brought on a major shift in how we interact, this is especially true for our children. You are likely reading this on your phone, tablet or some type of personal computer. It’s truly incredible how much technology has changed the way we communicate. Handshakes, good eye contact and small talk is giving way to Facebook ‘likes’, clever tweets and emojis. We are by no means anti-tech, after all we were founded by a Millennial. However, growing up with this technology means we need to ensure our children aren’t missing out on vital life and social skills. The ease, convenience and addictive nature of these devices has put an entire generation under fire for their inability to function in the ‘real world’. We’ve all heard the complaints, but not a lot about the solution. We believe the answer is leadership training. The world needs better leaders and more of them. No doubt, the next generation is going to be tech-savvy; let’s ensure they can think-savvy. At Savvy Leadership Academy, we’re not only focused on how to accomplish this, but more importantly – when? It should start when we’re kids. The foundations of leadership are built upon self-awareness, effective communication, team building and perseverance, just to name a few. Today’s youth are more than capable of understanding and implementing these concepts into their lives and communities.
