Love Tree Interiors
www.thefamilylovetree.com.auWe are Melbourne, Australian born, with a sustainable, boho luxe twist. The Family Love Tree draws on the energy and ingenuity that rushes around this eclectic and creative city, but with a peaceful and seductive tone that comes from our love for all things lush, loose and harmonious. We create here and hand craft globally, we are committed to never mass producing. We are a brand that supports Slow Fashion, by respecting the traditional craftsmanship of hand making rattan furniture & homewares. This incredible skill has been perfected and handed down through generations and by acknowledging that in this high-efficient, high-productive, fast waste, fast-fashion world we live in, we celebrate and value these skills, we’re restoring hand made craft traditions that are as old as time. Along the way, we discover and appreciate how important the slow fashion approach can be. At The Family Love Tree we can proudly say that our eco-friendly products aren't just about making homes more beautiful, they're about helping to alleviate the communities around the globe from poverty. Together we are helping to grow local economies of these communities where our products are handcrafted. The rattan used in our hand woven pieces comes from the liana plant. It's a sustainable material that roots itself in the soil and grows up to 100 meters high on to trees in the rainforest. The residents who live near the rainforest are employed to harvest the rattan liana carefully by hand, leaving the surrounding rainforest intact. After collecting the long branches, the top shoot of the liana is planted back into the ground so the growing process can start all over again. By never mass producing, The Family Love Tree ensures the quality of the product and supports the skilled villages, whose main income source relies on the manufacturing of rattan products. Rattan, grows all year round and provides an alternative to logging and can help protect the area's forests. With the negative impact of deforestation, rattan planting and harvesting is one of the best alternatives to contributing to the decreasing population of trees and forests.
