Founded in 1921, Sporting Clube de Braga achieved very important accomplishments in the history of Portuguese football, the most important being the 1965/1966 and 2015/2016 Portuguese Cups and the 2012/2013 and 2019/2020 League Cup. The 21st century has led the club to fantastic growth in results and infrastructure. The new stadium, built for Euro 2004, is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, has a capacity of 30,000 people and its architect, Souto de Moura, was recognized internationally by receiving awards and broad references as the creator of one of the most remarkable buildings of the decade. The football team has also made a big impact on national and European competitions. Facing the country's three biggest clubs year after year, SC Braga is a regular participant in UEFA competition, winning the Intertoto Cup in 2009 and reaching the Europa League final in 2011. The Club has been present in the Champions League group stage on two occasions in recent years. In other sports, SC Braga has an old history and tradition with national and international titles in athletics, notable records in swimming, taekwondo and billiards. We are also the national, european and world beach soccer champions.
