Strategic Property Economics ("SPE") was founded by Patrick Simons in early 2008 to provide real estate developers and investors with the best possible market insights during the most harrowing economic times since the Great Depression. In just a few short years, the firm became an internationally recognized innovator in market research with offices in Orange County and Sacramento, California providing services to real estate developers and investors nationwide – from Los Angeles to New York, Miami to Seattle, and all states in between. Upon receiving an offer he couldn't refuse to get back into real estate development, Patrick wound the firm down in June 2013. The firm's special focus was attached residential development and investment including rental apartments, for-sale condos, mixed-use projects, and transit-oriented development. Analysis of retail markets was also performed for select clients. Clients of SPE ranged from private and public builder/developers to private equity investors to public agencies. In addition to SPE's highly regarded market research, the firm provided strategic business planning advice and assisted clients in solving complex development, asset management, and transactional needs. Between its founding in early 2008 and its winding down, the firm provided consulting services for more than 23,000 residential units.
