Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM) SUMM sparks each and every person to love math. We are united under the shared belief that math is the universal language of problem-solving. As a city deeply rooted in STEM, Seattle is a national leader in the application of math across multiple fields. The Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM) is committed to expanding access and opportunity to math education through a welcoming and inclusive museum space. We are dedicated to sparking curiosity through engaging hands-on experiences for all learners to value the beauty and strength of math. We endeavor to offer participants a positive and fun experience with a variety of 3D math-based interactive exhibits. Our goal is to help visitors see their own potential as learners and realize that math expands educational and career opportunities, and how we can plot our own possible futures. SUMM takes you on a math journey. We create opportunities for exploration, discovery, and growth. SUMM envisions a world where each and every person has access to the language, power and impact of math, where we see an end to institutional inequity, and where every day brings uncapped potential for mathematical, scientific, artistic, and architectural achievements and expression. We are a nonprofit start-up organization founded in 2019. We are currently in the early stages of developing our organization. We are fundraising, planning and forming our concept designs for a future opening in the next 3 years. SUMM will be the second dedicated math museum in the country. Launching the Seattle Universal Math Museum and sparking curiosity through experiential math exhibits and activities would not be possible without support from our donors, volunteers and staff.
