EduCricket™ is a trivia board game centered on the sport of cricket. It has been designed as an coaching aiding tool to teach kids/players about the fundamentals of cricket while also assisting coaches. The aim of the game is to educate players off the field to be prepared for on the field. The board game creates a fun and competitive way for players to learn about cricket in a group environment. It is designed for children aged 6 -13 years old but can be enjoyed by anyone. It covers active start and level 1 cricket content. It enables players to learn about the basics of the sport, such as bowling, fielding, batting, shot types, equipment gear and umpire signals, as well as trivia knowledge related to the sport. It has an easily understandable design and comes in a convenient drawstring promo bag so it can be played in a wide variety of settings: from home to school, on outings and holidays, or at cricket clinics, cricket clubs and anywhere else a group of kids can sit down and play together. The EduCricket™ team will soon be launching a pilot project by introducing the board game to a few selected schools in the Western Cape, South Africa. In October 2020 the game will be launched in partnership with Western Province Cricket Association (Cricket South Africa) and Western Province Sports & Recreation Department. Pending the outcome of the test trial, the team will then look at launching a national distribution rollout plan in early February 2021 with key selected sponsors and partners. This will be done in accordance with the national guidelines, procedures, and measures related to the Covid-19 global pandemic. The EduCricket team is also working creatively with the appropriate cricketing governing bodies to develop and tailor the game for players with disabilities, that involves intellectually impaired players, blind and deaf cricket participants.
