American communities without fast, reliable, affordable, and universally available broadband access face big challenges to their economic development, access to modern education and healthcare resources, and the ability to attract and retain residents. Estimates vary, but this critical problem affects up to 30 million people across the United States. Advocates and community leaders who want to solve this challenge are usually on their own to figure out their best potential roadmap. The Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN) can help. The Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN) mission is two-fold: **To help close the digital equity gap through providing direct services to underserved populations, and by helping communities and organizations to create and/or manage their own Digital Navigator programs. **To provide a collaborative network and marketplace for communities, community-based broadband providers, and solutions providers. CBAN’s goal is to provide pathways for successful action by communities that want to guarantee fast, affordable, reliable, and universally-available broadband access to their citizens. CBAN aspires to increase the number of communities exploring how to impact their broadband options by: • Lowering information barriers • Increasing the number of partnerships • Making network construction and operations more viable
