www.cmmolina.clThe Centro Mario Molina Chile (CMMCh), founded in 2004, is a research and development center, accredited by CORFO (Chilean Economic Development Agency). It is the leading research institution in Latin America and the Caribbean working on clean fuels and vehicles in the region. It is part of a best practice network that includes organizations like the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), University California Davis Institute for Transportation Studies (ITS) amongst others. Its employees have decades of combined experience working for public, private, research and multilateral institutions working on issues related to cleaner fuels, vehicles and air quality. Since 2009 Centro Mario Molina Chile has been an integral partner of the Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) and the Partnership for Clean Fuels and Vehicles (PCFV) working to establish policies to improve vehicular efficiency and fuel quality in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as the introduction of stringent vehicle emission standards and improved compliance and enforcement programs. In Chile, it has a privileged position in leading the development of an ecosystem for alternatively fueled vehicles – particularly focused on electric mobility. Most recently, we have drafted a publication for Euroclima establishing a strategy roadmap for the deployment of electric vehicles in the region. This roadmap also incorporates the main policy tenants established by the GFEI, PCFV and UNEPs transport unit in Nairobi whom we work closely with.
