Blacksonville Community Network (BCN)
www.blacksonville.netBlacksonville Community Network is a technology-based social enterprise and business development company. We started in 2000 as the First black-owned digital marketing & media company in Florida with an intent to disrupt the new media space. Then, as now, our goal has been to open doors that afford global local talent education and access to advance technologies beyond the traditional media landscape to impact business and economic outcomes for underserved BIPOC communities. Simply, we build leadership by using technology for what it is, a tool to equip and empower African Americans with innovative resources capable of improving trade, commerce, and access in the global marketplace. To this end, our strategies include collaborating with like-minded organizations to implement S.M.A.R.T.E.R. business models that enhance business credit, networking, and advance technologies for sustainable growth. We invite you to join us, share your story, and help us build a powerful black economic community hub. Thirty years ago, after the transition of BET and JET magazine it was obvious that a lack of transitional leadership would drastically reduce financial and human capital resources crucial to spur and empower new talent in broadcast media and the black press. This devastated our local communities; even more so it contributed to the loss of generational intellectual property with the onset of the information highway. Hence, at the dawn of Y2K we gave birth to the Blacksonville Community Network (BCN). Years before you heard of a Tweet, put your Face in a Book, or developed an Instant impulse to send a digiGram, a #MetaVerse existed to keep the energy in the atmosphere. No #Smartphones, no other "preneurs", just a tradition of innovation...#Blacksonville. We encourage you to welcome all that the future holds in this ever-changing world of technology and media. But most important let's support Black Biz. Black does not define us, it only empower us to Be ALL we can BE.
