UPNE has earned a reputation for excellence in scholarly, instructional, reference, literary and artistic, and general interest books. Many of these are published cooperatively with one of the member institutions and carry a joint imprint. General interest books for a national audience are published under our ForeEdge imprint, and regional books are published under the University Press of New England imprint. Our publishing program reflects strengths in the humanities, liberal arts, fine, decorative, and performing arts, literature, New England culture, and interdisciplinary studies. The Press publishes about 60 titles annually and distributes another 140 or so through its Book Partners program. A professional staff of twenty-five maintains high standards in editorial, design and production, marketing and sales, order fulfillment, and business operations. In 2014, UPNE launched its ForeEdge imprint for national trade books, with a list reflecting strengths in history, politics, true crime, and music.
