New MSOC, New Vision - "Building Tomorrow's Leaders" The UNSW Management Society (MSOC) is the constituent club of the School of Management at the Australian School of Business. The society was first established in 2010 as Organisation and Management Society (OMSOC), with Nicole Soo in the role of President. The founding of the society was largely initiated by Dr Hugh Bainbridge, with the idea of connecting with management students outside of the classroom. As the constituent student society of UNSW’s School of Management, the UNSW Management Society (MSOC) has often been misconceived to be niche-targeting students within the Management major. On the contrary, MSOC recognises that Management is a universal skill that transcends degrees and industries, and hence our vision is underpinned by our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. MSOC’s vision is to “build the leaders of tomorrow”, by which we mean, to help students develop into leaders who possess the skills and attributes required in today’s competitive job environment. To do so, we connect our members with industry professionals through interactive events such as networking sessions, skills workshops and competitions where students obtain first-hand experience and insight from industry representatives. Through this, we strive not only to facilitate career development but to also provide an additional platform for our corporate partners to engage in student recruitment. Continuing on the momentum we experienced in 2021, we expect student participation to increase even further in 2022 as we innovate new opportunities that are tailored to the changing needs of our members and partners.
