Lambert House LGBTQ Youth Community Center
www.lamberthouse.orgLambert House empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth through the development of leadership, social, and life skills. Lambert House is a safe place for LGBTQ youth ages 22 and under. Our calendar is packed with fun activities, support groups, case management, a nightly community dinner, youth intern & volunteer opportunities, an LGBTQ film series, outdoor recreation, dances, field trips, & other events. These serve as prevention for the entire constellation of risks that LGBTQ youth face including social isolation which can lead to depression & suicide, family conflict which can lead to homelessness, unsafe sexual practices, and more. Lambert House is where life gets better for LGBTQ youth. Our programs & services are facilitated by long-term, thoroughly vetted and trained adult volunteers. We have approximately 100 volunteers engaged in direct service with youth every week. Volunteers are a rich resource for youth representing many backgrounds, experiences, identities, and personalities. This model also allows the organization to deliver a large return to the community for relatively little money consumed. Email volunteer@lamberthouse.org for more information. A great way to support LGBTQ youth is to become a donor. Individual community contributions comprise 80% of our annual operating budget. Ongoing gifts create stability for our programs, and employer matches make your gifts go further. Donations can be made by mail, online through our website, or your employer-sponsored payroll deduction program. Donations of appreciated assets, gift cards, cars, third-party fundraisers, and supplies are all appreciated. Lambert House is running a capital campaign where your contributions will be part of securing a permanent home for this important youth organization. For information about gifts of $1,000 or more, contact our Executive Director Ken Shulman by text or phone at 206-491-0596.
