Young carers are an extraordinary bunch. They go above and beyond to support and provide for their loved ones who face chronic mental illness, physical disability, or drug addiction. We are committed to creating a world where young carers thrive and can achieve their full potential - with the support, understanding and engagement from the wider community. One aspect of what we do is listening and using these insights to better support young carers. Caring For Me(CFM) is a program undertaken primarily by young people for young people in their life as young carers. The project has two outcomes 1. to engage young people in developing and delivering a research program to understand what it means to be a young carer and 2. Develop, implement, manage and improve the necessary tools and services to positively impact the health, wellbeing and social connection of young carers. Whilst primarily young people are the targeted beneficiaries of the program, people of all ages, stages and experiences associated with young carers are encouraged to be involved. Skills training and personal development is critical in supporting future employment for young people in graphic design, research, ethics, media and communication, photography, interpersonal engagement, leadership and management are critical elements.
