www.provo.orgThe Covey Center for the Arts is named in honor of Sandra Merrill Covey. Found on Center Street in Provo, Utah, the Covey Center is the on the far west side of the city's downtown. Opened in 2007, the performing arts center houses local, state, national, and international music, dance, and theater performances, as well as gallery exhibits. Its mission is to enrich the lives of the community, provide educational and creative opportunities for all ages, provide first-class entertainment, and endow all that is good in the arts for generations to come. Inside the Covey Center for the Arts: * 42,000 total square feet * 670-seat performance hall * State-of-the-art sound system * Full theatrical lighting system * Full theatrical fly, 75 feet * Full orchestra pit, with cover * Access to orchestra pit from audience and/or backstage * Audience area: no seat is further than 60 feet from the front of the stage * Three grand pianos * On-site laundry facilities * Loading dock with hydraulic lift for easy access and load-in * Ramp and stair access to stage from audience * Television broadcast-ready * All studios and support spaces have access to backstage * Two dressing/green rooms with lockers and make-up mirrors * Three dance studios furnished with a piano, ballet bars and mirrors * Studio Stage in the dance studio (seats 80) * Brinton Black Box Theatre (seats 60) * 1,620 square-foot art gallery (60'x27') * Large lobby areas on both floors with additional art gallery space * Large boardroom with kitchen and serving area * Full-service box office with three ticket windows * Elevator with accessibility to front entrance and all levels * Ample parking on south side of building (accessible from 100 South)
