Founded in 1982 to develop techniques to roll and cast depleted uranium for defense and energy applications, Manufacturing Sciences Corporation (MSC) is a premier leader in high quality metal fabrication. Our production capabilities include a full-service foundry, depleted uranium machining area, clean machining area, rolling mill, weld shop, quality inspection area, as well as a radiochemistry laboratory and analytical laboratory. During our tenure, we have developed application specific methods for microwave melting, rolling of various metal matrix composites, and niobium, tantalum, aluminum, and steel alloys, infra-red heating, micro-alloying, foil manufacturing, and dry machining of depleted uranium. We offer a variety of on-site resources including experienced personnel specializing in project management, technology, engineering (nuclear, mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, and civil), operations, radiation safety, and environmental health and safety. MSC has strong reputable relationships within the scientific research and regulatory communities and are also an active participant in the Tennessee OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), receiving our first certification 2000. During MSC’s 40 year tenure, we have worked with a multitude of international entities performing various scopes of work. We are a staple with international affiliates, as a resource to recycle depleted uranium, natural uranium, and components containing depleted uranium.
