Fibrepac
www.fibrepac.comThe new manufacturing site in Lincolnshire is powered by energy generated from food and agricultural waste via anaerobic digestion. This will be a UK first; growing and managing carbon-sequestering, high yielding, perennial crops, using truly clean and green energy for the production and distribution of carbon-neutral packaging as efficiently as possible. Miscanthus produces ideal cellulose fibre to make high performance food packaging. It is similar in colour and texture to bamboo and bagasse (sugarcane waste), but with the advantage of being easy and cost effective to harvest in Britain on marginal land in temperate climatic conditions without the need for pesticides or fertilisers. Our aim is to replace single-use plastic and imported pulp fibre packaging for the UK food sector. We plan to expand globally in the future.
