Rainier Athletes is a quickly growing non-profit with a mission to affirm our youth’s sense of purpose and belonging by intentionally connecting their community of teachers, coaches, families, and mentors. Powered by a quickly growing community of Rainier Athletes' mentors, the organization works collaboratively to mobilize a network of teachers, coaches, mentors, and families around the community's historically marginalized students, ultimately cultivating a more inclusive environment for all. Each day of the school week, over 250 Bellevue School District teachers lean on the Rainier Athletes model in their classrooms to form productive connections with some of their most challenging students. Based in Bellevue, WA Rainier Athletes currently serves over 100 students and their families across 10 Bellevue Schools. Once selected in fifth grade, each student is fully sponsored year-round to participate in sports, extracurricular activities and summer camps. Further, each student is paired with a dedicated mentor and motivated to achieve both on and off the field through Rainier Athletes classroom engagement and self-advocacy model. Rainier Athletes makes a longterm investment in each student, first selecting a students in fifth grade and continuing support through high school graduation.
