UKSA also works with agencies and athletes from grass roots sports opportunities through to the Global Games and Paralympic Games. At an international level, UKSA has the lead role in ensuring that all athletes with learning disability wishing to compete at Great Britain and international level competition are appropriately classified with the International Sports Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome and Autism (Inas). At a UK level, UKSA is the body that classifies athletes with learning disability competing in the UK. UKSA is recognised by UK Sport and is the only official and recognised Great Britain representative member of Inas. UKSA is represented on the National Paralympic Committee in the UK – the British Paralympic Association (BPA) and is linked to the Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR) and other key sports organisations and Governing Bodies.
