Player ID Academy CIC was co-founded by Daniel Hamilton & Obadiah Emaru in 2019. Born from a frustration at the lack of opportunities for young footballers in their area, they wanted to offer a professional player’s experience to children that went beyond teaching football. Using the game as a tool to teach vital life skills, PIA aims to offer unique opportunities to players, coaches & parents within the community. Player ID Academy (PIA) has grown from a standing start to working with over 100 players in South East London. The programme began as a weekly training programme and now wishes to become an advanced academy structure across 2 ability groups & 10 age groups, with additional programmes including coach education, for aspiring coaches, camps, tournaments, fixtures, online education and private training. At PlA we pride ourselves on making each individual the best they can be amongst their peers and within their community. Using sport as a tool to engage young people into healthier choices. As Well as delivering football sessions, we also deliver workshops on mental wellbeing, promoting leadership skills and building confidence. Skills learnt on the football field can be transferred into the classroom and other walks of life, we have amazing relationships with our players and often extend our support to individuals, by reaching out to their school in recognition of their offsite achievements. We are committed to leaving a sporting legacy, particularly by encouraging grassroots participation in sport among young people.
