Universal Chan International Zen Buddhist Center
www.universalchan.orgUniversal Chan is an international donation-based 501(c)(3) non-profit Buddhist organization derived from the Chinese Chan Tradition, founded by the Chan Monk Da Xing. Compared to China and other Asian countries where Buddhism is a prevalent religion, the US has only been exposed to Buddhism for less than a century. The goal of the organization and of its affiliations is to spread the Chan Teachings to deeply benefit those interested in learning the teachings of the Buddha. In doing this, we use a modern approach rooted in ancient tradition to expose people to other aspects of ancient Chinese culture connected to this teaching. We hope numerous people will come to learn how to apply this teaching in order to achieve a more satisfying life and find liberation in any situation. Our activities include weekly Dharma talks and meditation classes, tea tastings, yoga, tai chi, retreats, hiking, and more. All of our programs, activities, and events are donation-based. Your voluntary contribution and generosity are crucial to help maintain the activities at our Chan Center and to continue to serve the community. We strive to keep this priceless wisdom alive in order to benefit as many people as possible.
