D6: Culture in Transit
www.d6culture.orgD6: Culture in Transit is a visual and media arts organisation, running an international programme of commissions, residencies and events. D6 works with partners internationally to support artistic exchange of ideas across borders. Our mission is to bring great contemporary art to audiences that will be less likely to experience it and to engage artists whose work explores our societal and environmental relationships. D6 works with artists and organisations from around the world to create an international platform for artistic collaboration and audience engagement. We are committed to both supporting local artists internationally and to brining artists from all over the world to the North East through our international residency programme. As we navigate these uncertain times, we have looked deeply into the way in which the arts can sustainably develop communities, drawing threads between lived experiences at local levels in the UK and abroad. Our focus in this period cut across innovative cultural engagement with communities, cultural equity and positive change for all and across three core and intersecting areas of work: (i) Equitable Engagement, (ii) Heritage and Migration (iii) Sustainability and the Green Agenda.
