About Sound Limited

www.aboutsound.co.uk

About Sound has built up an enviable reputation in the classical music industry as a leading provider of location recording services for broadcast, record labels and private individuals. Clients include Classic FM, the ABRSM, Sony Music, Hyperion and Signum. About Sound is trusted to record many of the foremost classical artists in the most iconic venues such as The Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Southbank Centre, Snape Maltings, Symphony Hall Birmingham and Glyndebourne to name a few. The other side of the business is involved with discreet AV installations for inspiring spaces. The company has become particularly experienced in the cathedral and college chapel sector with five cathedrals and many other landmark buildings to it's credit. About Sound implemented the first project of it's kind in the UK to webcast choral evensong from St John's College, Cambridge back in 2008, leading to a steady stream of similar projects, giving choral foundations their own channel as BBC Radio 3's choral evensong dwindles. Some clients such as Trinity College Cambridge broadcast video on Facebook Live using a network of PTZ cameras installed by About Sound. Custom video relay systems have been developed for organists at King's College Cambridge and Christ Church and Ely Cathedrals. It is the attention to detail and customisation that has become the signature of About Sound installations. About Sound aims to seamlessly combine technology with preservation in the most discreet, sustainable and reversible manner imaginable. The greatest compliment is when visitors ask us where the speakers are - then we know we have done a good job.
