Cultivate Music Studio is the first and only studio in California with an instructor certified in Occupational Octaves Piano, the most comprehensive piano program designed for individuals with special needs. Lessons are one-on-one and students will learn to play the piano while targeting a range of cognitive, motor, and emotional skills. CMS is also the first studio in the South Bay Area offering Musikgarten early childhood group music classes for children ages birth-3 as well as the Wunderkeys piano program for preschoolers. In addition to studying traditional repertoire and technique, students are encouraged to direct their own musical pursuits. Students will help choose repertoire based on their specific preferences and develop their own musical tastes. Students will also develop real-world piano skills such as composing, improvising and playing by ear. Most importantly, students will learn to approach learning with a growth mindset, and this can positively impact all other areas of life.
