PROPLAST is a technology center focused on research and innovation in the plastic world, by integrating the industrial and academic competencies, approaches and needs. Proplast facilities include pilot lines of the main technologies for polymer production and processing, i.e. extrusion and compounding, injection molding and thermoforming, fiber composite production. Proplast has an advanced design lab (CAD/CAM, FEM analysis, processing simulation) and material characterization laboratories. Proplast has a wide knowledge in the development and characterization of polymer nanocomposites, with specific skills in their scale up to the industrial level, and biopolymers/biocomposites. Proplast is currently involved in projects at European (H2020, Life+, Interreg Program, Erasmus+) and national level. Since 2008, Proplast is a recognized Piedmont Cluster: Green Chemistry and Advanced Materials.
