The MMSc-GHD is a degree-granting master's program that offers a rigorous cross-university curriculum focused on developing the tools needed to perform social and delivery science and policy research in resource-limited settings. The core component of the MMSc-GHD is a field-based mentored research project in global health, culminating in a master's thesis. Program Details The MMSc-GHD program spans two years. During year one, students take classes across Harvard University. During year two, students complete an on-site mentored research project. Courses The MMSc-GHD includes courses at Harvard Medical School as well as at other Harvard schools. Students take core course as well as electives as noted below. Year 1 Summer -Epidemiological Methods for Global Health (2 credits) -Introduction to Global Health Delivery (2 credits) -Value-Based Management in Global Health Delivery (1 credit) Fall -Quantitative Methods for Global Health (4 credits) -Social Medicine and Global Health (4 credits) -Qualitative Methods for Global Health (4 credits) -Ethnographic Methods for Global Health Research (4 credits) -Program Seminar (0 credits) Spring -Conceptual and Practical Ethics in Global Health Delivery (2 credits) -Mixed Methods for Global Health Research (4 credits) -Electives in policy, management (10 credits) -Program Seminar (0 credits) Year 2 -Mentored Thesis Project (32 credits): Students are in the field from June-January and then return to Boston to write their thesis, then graduate in May of year 2
