On the cutting edge of public/private partnerships, the Fund serves as the fundraising arm and fiscal sponsor for both private and public grants and other donations that support the critical work of the NYC Department for the Aging. It is governed by an independent board of directors but includes the Commissioner of the Department for the Aging and top DFTA staff representation to ensure coordination and linkage. Our objectives are: Maintaining New York City's status as the best place to grow old; ◾Filling critical gaps in the aging services continuum ; ◾Providing fiscal and administrative support to other NYC non-profits in their efforts to offer essential services to seniors; and, ◾Being on the cutting edge of innovative senior programming.
