The Millin Charity
www.themillincharity.co.ukThe Millin Charity was established in 1999 to meet the needs of a dynamic and diverse local community, and today our staff, trustees and inspiring team of volunteers continue to innovate to fill the gaps that exist in mainstream services, so local people can find a way forward to improve their own and their families’ lives. The charity has helped thousands of local people facing significant challenges, experiencing isolation or simply running out of options and not sure where to go next. By providing access to a support network of peers and services in the local community each person is able to find the help that best suits their own needs; through working together they have become socially and economically empowered, and able to make a much more active contribution to the local community. The Millin Charity projects are unique. They have been co-created with local people to make sure they are person-centred and really make a difference to their lives. All of our projects are delivered in the local community, making them accessible and relevant to the needs of local people. Our projects are designed to help people to get further by working together, and most of our current projects are geared to supporting women. Adaptation of our projects to meet the specific needs of non-gender based groups is also on our agenda for the future.
