Outsider Art Fair (Wide Open Arts, LLC)
www.outsiderartfair.comFor twenty-five years, the Outsider Art Fair New York has been the world’s foremost show of outsider, self-taught and folk art. Founded in 1993, the Fair quickly became a critical and commercial success. In 2012, art dealer Andrew Edlin acquired the Outsider Art Fair with his newly formed company, Wide Open Arts. In a new location and under new ownership, the 2013 edition of the Outsider Art Fair New York signaled a rebirth for the now well-established event, and in the fall of the same year, Wide Open Arts launched the Fair’s first Paris edition, attracting a wide-ranging and global audience. Now held every January and October in New York and Paris respectively, the Outsider Art Fair continues to maintain its maverick spirit, showcasing compelling and unusual works by legendary and newly discovered artists. In addition to exhibiting galleries, we collaborate with art centers serving artists with a range of disabilities, and work with both individual curators and larger institutions to provide curated exhibitions and public panel discussions surrounding outsider art.
