Greater Houston Transportation Company (GHTC) is the largest taxi company in Houston with 1,446 permits between Yellow Cab, Taxis Fiesta, United Cab, Greater Houston Airport Taxi, and Towne Car. GHTC provides goods and services to independent contractor drivers who are in the taxicab business. GHTC recently invested over $5 million towards a new state of the art dispatch system which has led to an average pickup time of less than 9 minutes for all taxi trips.
