Author unknown Since 2002 our “Operation Viet Nam Compassion Fund” has been assisting orphans & impoverished persons in areas where Australians served during the Viet Nam War. “Operation Viet Nam Compassion” at present assists two orphanages in Ba Ria and a third in Sai Gon. The 1st. normally accommodates about 70 – 80 children, the 2nd. cares for about 110, including some who are physically or mentally disabled and the 3rd. cares for 40 orphaned children. We also assist impoverished persons in the Nui Dat area. The Group has been carrying on this work since 2002 and is extremely proud of its efforts, as monies raised benefit orphans and impoverished in places where Australians served during the Viet Nam War. There are NO middlemen, NO kickbacks, NO paid positions and NO freebies. All produce that we distribute is bought in local markets with the assistance of local friends at local prices and we ensure that large purchases are spread between merchants, thus maximizing the impact of “Donor Dollars” in the local communities.
