The University of Mary Washington Center for Economic Development, (established in 2011) inspires and enables entrepreneurs and their organizations to pursue economic growth through education, consulting, connecting, and supportive research. UMW’s Center for Economic Development offers eight high-impact programs designed to meet the needs of the community, students, faculty, economic development stakeholders, resource partners, and businesses. Our ecosystem includes the EagleWorks Business Incubation Center, StartUpUMW, the Eagle Innovation Seed Capital Event, the Small Business Development Center (since 1992), the Government Contracting Assistance Center, Regional Initiatives, the Peer to Peer Advising Program and host to the Rappahannock Economic Development Corporation (a U. S. Small Business Administration chartered Certified Development Company).
