The Rugby Research and Injury Prevention Group is a non-for-profit organization dedicated “to improve American rugby players’ welfare and safety through innovative evidence-based research.” RRIPG was established in 2010 through the generosity and under the guidance of the National Competitive Region 3 (NCR3), formerly known as the Northeast Rugby Football Union (NRU) (composed of the Empire Rugby Football Union Geographic Union (Empire GU) and the New England Rugby Football Union Geographic Union (New England GU)). RRIPG is endorsed to collect data by USA Sevens LLC, and USA Rugby (USAR), who are the major entities organizing and conducting rugby sporting events in the U.S.
