Space Design Competitions Australia
www.ausspacedesign.org.auSpace Design Competitions Australia are the premier provider of industry-simulation events for high-school students in Australia. Our competitions aim to provide interactive, high-tempo, and dynamic environments for students to further their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills. Since 2006, we have partnered with a number of organisations across Australia to nourish and prepare the next generation of innovative young minds. We run and support the following programmes: 1. Junior Space Design Competition (JDSC) - aimed at grades 5-8, this event aims to encourage middle school students into STEM skills via creating promotional material for space endeavours. 2. Australian Space Design Competition (ASDC) - aimed at grades 9-12, this event sees students form fictional aeronautical companies and engage in designing a futuristic space settlement. A Qualifying event runs across the Australian school year, with finalists participating in our Finals event each January, just prior to school resuming. 3. International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) Touring Team - the ASDC Champions travel to the ISSDC Finals, held each year at the Kennedy Space Centre (Florida, USA) where they work with student finalists from across the globe.
