The Journal of Precision Respiratory Medicine (JPRM) is a peer reviewed publication dedicated to distributing timely scientific research regarding advancements in the knowledge and practice of respiratory medicine. Its primary readership extends to all medical providers with an interest in respiratory disease. The incorporation of the term, “precision medicine” in the title serves to direct the journal’s focus on this revolutionary approach to disease prevention and treatment that takes into account the individual differences which result from the interplay of lifestyle, environment and human biology. The overall mission of the JPRM is to distribute timely information regarding advancements in the knowledge and practice of respiratory medicine to clinicians entrusted with the care of patients who suffer from respiratory diseases. As such its primary focus is to publish articles with a predominantly clinical focus which directly impact quality of care for patients with respiratory disease. While the journal welcomes original works, as the official journal of the Eastern Pulmonary Conference (EPC), its mission includes the publication of proceedings derived from the EPC. Therefore its content incorporates abstracts from EPC poster sessions as well as cutting edge review articles derived from EPC lectures. To this end, the journal serves to widely distribute EPC enduring content. Published material also includes peer-reviewed original research, clinical trials and review articles. It is our hope that the collection of articles found within the pages of each issue will impart clinically useful insights regarding the prevention and treatment of the burdensome respiratory diseases which afflict the patients whom we serve.
