The Australasian Lymphology Association's (ALA) mission is to be the peak professional organisation promoting best practice in lymphoedema management, research and education in Australasia. The ALA is a health promotions charity with deductible gift recipient status. Our multi-faceted work includes supporting health practitioners to manage and treat patients with lymphoedema, providing information to consumers and referrers including access to a register of ALA Accredited Practitioners, and utilising our gift management fund to support research and education. Our membership consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, doctors and massage therapists who are seeking networks, support and guidance to enable them to manage and treat people living with lymphoedema. Our members work in public and private health sectors, and may elect to specialise in areas including primary or secondary lymphoedema, paediatrics, breast cancer, as well as treatment options such as lymphatic drainage and garment prescription.
