White Pine Insurance Company was formed under the name Mid-Continent Insurance Company in 1969 as a stock insurance company which was originally domiciled in Pennsylvania. On December 31, 2010 the company was purchased by Conifer Holdings Inc., a Birmingham, Michigan based insurance holding company and owner of Conifer Insurance Company. White Pine Insurance Company, under new management, is domiciled in the state of Michigan and has earned a B++ financial rating from insurance ratings agency, AM Best. Our products are sold through a network of independent agents and brokers. Target classes of business include main street mercantile businesses, restaurants, bars and taverns, artisan contractors, garages, commercial auto risks, dwellings, homeowners, and other specialty lines.
