Applied Ethics, Inc.
www.paxpopuli.orgApplied Ethics, Inc. was established in July 2007 as a nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts, USA, with the mission of seeking ethical solutions to significant social issues through projects, education, counseling, and advocacy. Applied Ethics is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity; all donations to AE are deductible for US taxpayers. We gratefully accept the donations of those who wish to contribute to our efforts, and we strive to maximize the value of every penny we receive to advance our organizational mission. The main program of Applied Ethics is Pax Populi, which seeks to advance peace through helpful people-to-people, community-to-community, and institution-to-institution cooperative endeavors. It is founded on the simple idea that for peace to flourish, we need to recognize in each other our shared humanity and dignity, and from a place of fellowship and goodwill seek mutually beneficial solutions to our problems. Rather than leaving peacemaking to politicians, we look to ordinary people — educators, businesspeople, people of faith, artists, scientists, and people of goodwill everywhere — to heed the call help advance peace. One example of the work of our work in this area is the Pax Populi Education Outreach, which led us to arrange to bring a young Afghan woman to study at a US university in September 2010. We are also engaged in other educational efforts related to our goal of helping to advance civil society in Afghanistan.
