As a university-wide center, the IIB develops and provides international business resources and opportunities for faculty, students and businesses. The IIB supports faculty in enhancing the global dimensions of their teaching and research; provides students opportunities to be best prepared to work in a global economy; and collaborates with the business community to advance international business practice. Since 1993, the IIB has been designated and funded by the US Department of Education as a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER)—one of only 15 such centers in the United States. The US Department of Education’s stated overall mission for CIBERs is to advance US global competitiveness. The IIB addresses this mission through the development and implementation of curriculum, research, and training on issues of importance to US trade and competition.
