Care Camps is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to help ensure kids with cancer and their families have the chance to attend special oncology camps, where they can experience the healing nature of the outdoors and find the joy that comes from spending time building friendships and having fun. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, this experience comes at no cost to the family. All camps involve specially trained counselors and on-site services provided by health care professionals. By supporting this North American (USA and Canada) network of high-quality oncology camps, you can help kids with cancer forget about their illness and be with other kids who know what they’re going through, all while receiving the specialized medical treatments they need. Through camp activities, kids learn many of the resilience skills necessary to meet the extraordinary challenges they will face while fighting their disease and through the everyday struggles of ongoing follow up care and survivorship. The kids who attend typically return year after year as campers, then often later as counselors to carry on camp traditions as they grow into adolescence and adulthood. These camps let kids be kids! Care Camps’ objective is to pave the path for every child, sibling and family impacted by cancer to have the opportunity to attend camp and create unforgettable relationships and indelible memories that last a lifetime. These camps give kids and their families an important sense of normalcy where they can just feel like any other kid and enjoy the excitement that comes from being away at camp with friends and seasoned counselors, who truly understand their circumstances.
