We are a team of students from across the UK investigating recreational benzodiazepine usage amongst young people (18-25). Our main objective? To understand and evaluate the lived experiences and motivations for non-medical use of benzodiazepines in the UK young adults. Young people send in anonymous testimonies via the platform hosted by Drugs and Me, and a team will be conducting inductive and thematic analyses of these. This is a voluntary research project investigating the ways in which different harm reduction strategies (including education and NGO outreach) could reduce BZD consumption and improve access to drug support.
