Run for Gus is a fun and inspiring event to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research and Family Services programs at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. 20169 marks the 17th Anniversary of Run for Gus, honoring Gus Evangelides, who lost his courageous battle against a malignant brain tumor. The Annual Run for Gus 5k Run/1 Mile Walk is named after Gus Evangelides, who passed away from a malignant brain tumor at the young age of 21 months. By supporting Run for Gus, you will make a difference in the lives of thousands of children afflicted with brain tumors by funding: Research into the causes and treatment of pediatric brain tumors Service-oriented events and programs that support children and families in the hematology/oncology and brain tumor clinics, including Gus on the Go, Beads of Courage, and spirit-lifting hospital parties that are wholly funded by YAB. Whether you are a runner, walker or supporter, this event has activities for participants of all ages. Enjoy an after-party at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum featuring exciting children’s music, magicians, touching stories from patients and their families, a chance to win cool prizes, and much more.
