A program of Power Launch Philanthropy, the Charity Warriors Challenge is an annual fundraising competition and accelerator for passionate ambassadors of nonprofits. Since its founding, MA-based nonprofits have collectively raised over $1.3M through the Charity Warriors Challenge. Founded in 2014 by local philanthropists Christy Cashman and Mary Chiochios, the Charity Warriors Challenge was conceived as an exciting competition to help nonprofit leaders raise funds and awareness for worthy causes. In 2015, the program introduced mentors to the competition, including Power Launch founder Saskia Epstein. Together, they developed a companion accelerator, and in 2017, the Charity Warriors Challenge merged with Power Launch Philanthropy. Charity Warriors are passionate ambassadors of local nonprofits, serving in volunteer or staff leadership roles, as chief executives, board members, and rising leaders. The program helps organizational leaders to enhance their knowledge and know-how, to more effectively raise funds and awareness for their causes. Participants learn from each other and a powerful network of expert advisors while competing for a grand prize. Each week of the challenge focuses on a different area of fund development, in which participants hone their skills, test new ideas, and mobilize their teams to raise funds and awareness.
