Ground Up & Rising, Inc. is a 501(c)3 critically acclaimed, award-winning minimalist professional theatre organization whose programming is intended to widen our empathetic sensibilities and promote understanding amongst humankind. We do so through our three institutional pillars: 1) Artistic Excellence: An unwavering commitment to creating high-quality theatre. 2) Leadership in Diversity: Through an amalgamation of play selection, artistic choices, and non-traditional casting, Ground Up aims to be a regional leader in diversity by cultivating the careers of talented minority artists, giving these under-exposed artists rare market opportunities in a region where they are underrepresented in the Arts. 3) Commitment To Underserved Constituencies: Ground Up is fervently committed to underserved constituencies that are often neglected in the professional Arts community. In addition to providing minority artists opportunities for growth and acclaim, we seek to develop the future audience of the Arts through FREE admission for all people under the age of 25. We also provide FREE ASL interpreted performances for the deaf and hard of hearing communities.
