Medical Benevolent Association of NSW (MBANSW)
www.mbansw.org.auOperating since 1896, the Medical Benevolent Association of NSW (MBANSW) is a registered ACNC charitable organisation that specialises in assisting medical practitioners and their families, in both the ACT and NSW, during times of crisis, illness, impairment or grief. We are independent of any regulatory body. Our services are free, non-judgemental, confidential and can be accessed without referral. In addition to specialised counselling support, MBANSW also provide referral, information and advocacy (with consent). Financial assistance can be given during the crisis and recovery period, always with the aim of assisting the eventual return to independence and well-being of the doctor or family member. Our services are available during normal office hours by a qualified member of our Social Work Team, who normally can schedule an appointment at short notice. Our team is supported by an experienced Executive Officer as well as an elected Council of 14-16 volunteer doctors, who come from a wide variety of medical backgrounds. For more information, please visit our website: mbansw.org.au or call our team on 02 9987 0504 for a confidential chat. Whilst most people self-refer, we also encourage concerned colleagues, supervisors, family members and friends of doctors, to call us to discuss how we may be able to assist. You can remain anonymous If you would like to support our mission, please go to our website and choose donate on the home page. All donations are tax deductible and a Tax Receipt will be issued promptly.
