The Joe Gqabi Economic Development Agency (JoGEDA) was established in 2008 as an entity assigned with the responsibility of identifying, consolidating, packaging and promoting economic development and investment projects for and on behalf of the Joe Gqabi District. The development agency was established by the Joe Gqabi District Municipality and it’s local municipalities. The Development Agency is, through shareholding by the Joe Gqabi District Municipality, wholly owned by the Joe Gqabi District Municipality and acts in the best interests of it's ultimate shareholders - the people of Joe Gqabi District
