Since 2004, Colectivo Piloto has been advancing community participation and youth entrepreneurship through filmmaking in long-term partnership with government agencies, cultural centers and educational institutions. Our Mission: · Encourage all individuals to thrive within their community through participatory cultural initiatives that strengthen their voices and promote culturally diverse perspectives. · Foster students’ entrepreneurial mindset through inclusive film making practices which encourage students’ independence in exercising a critical point of view. Our Achievements: · Developed over 100 film making workshops and educational media initiatives across public schools in Argentina, Spain and the U.S., which have engaged more than 5 thousand teens and community members. · Partnered with more than 100 educational centers, non-profit organizations, cultural institutions and government agencies in Latin America, Europe and the U.S. · Established the foundation of a dozen new film production companies created by young entrepreneurs. · Co-produced 2 award-winning film documentaries. · Created 2 film festivals designed to advance youth filmmakers. · Produced 2 ‘coming of age’ series; with 60 episodes released online and 200+ teens involved in the production process. · Designed and implemented strategies to achieve significant and scalable community participation by organizing community members, film directors and producers to tell stories about their communities. · Our educational initiatives have raised awareness about the Rights of the Child worldwide benefiting more than 1000 preK-12 students in Spain, Latin America and the U.S. · Successfully empowered marginalized groups by creating an international and collaborative broadcasting platform which has built networks to trigger change. · Our educational media projects have been cited by researchers in several books and papers for ‘the use of digital media to foster youth independence and leadership.'
