The Center for Sound Literacy Foundation has been providing literacy support to students in urban schools within the Grand Rapids area since 2015. We specifically target kindergarten through fifth grade students who are significantly below reading proficiency. In addition to Tier1 coaching and various 30-minute interventions, the Foundation began implanting a process called the Intensive Literacy Instructor model in 2019, which has yielded dramatic literacy outcomes for students.
