GKI is leader of the market of independent Hungarian economic analyses and forecasts; it is one of the leading economic research companies in Central Europe. Unconsolidated sales revenues of GKI group amounted to more than EUR 2.5 million in 2010; within this those of GKI Co. totalled about EUR 1 million. Each affiliate of the group produced profits. Since 2000 the position of GKI in the media has been dominant without major changes. GKI accounts for 67% of the media appearance of economic research institutions (according to the calculations of GKI based on the figures of Observer. GKI Economic Research Co. (1992–): Several employees of Economic Research Institute (that was dissolved by the government) as well as banks, employer organisations and 154 renowned economists established GKI Economic Research Co. in October, 1992. At present nearly 90 per cent of the shares are owned by the management of GKI. Affiliates (2001–): In 2001 and 2002 GKI was developed into a group of companies.
